Project Overview
Rostek UK, a leading provider of building access solutions, has successfully partnered with Skyklass on the landmark Vita T2 project. Vita T2, a 35-story building developed by Vita, forms a cohesive architectural pair with the adjacent Vita T1 tower. These two towers are part of a visionary project designed to foster a live/work community for young professionals and city workers. The emphasis is on creating affordable living units, vibrant workspaces, and public amenities that enrich the urban environment.
Challenge:
With the successful completion of Vita T1’s façade installation, the next challenge was to implement a comprehensive façade access solution for Vita T2. The key requirement was a reliable system to facilitate routine building maintenance while adhering to stringent safety standards. The Vita T2 tower’s unique architectural composition and height demanded a specialized and robust Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) system.
Solution by Rostek UK:
Rostek UK was tasked with designing, supplying, and installing a fully powered ROS 4.2(1.8) BMU system for the Vita T2 project. The system was engineered to address the project’s key needs for accessibility, safety, and efficiency, incorporating the following features:
BMU Specifications:
Luffing Box Jib: 4.2m working position to reach various building elevations.
Power Traverse & Slewing: Facilitating smooth and controlled movement. 3.0m Cradle with Enclosed Sides: Ensuring operator safety with a confidence rail, supporting a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 250kg (2 persons).
Integrated Secondary Hoist: Capable of handling an additional 300kg, providing flexibility for maintenance tasks.
Roof Trolley Mounted Control: For ease of operation and navigation across different areas.
CE Marked and Fully Counterweighted Design: Complying with EN 1808 standards for safety and durability.
Track System and Fall Protection:
A 108m-long Galvanized Steel Twin Track, set at an 1800mm gauge, supports and guides the roof trolley for comprehensive building access.
Capital Safety ‘Dbi Sala’ Horizontal Fall Protection Cable Systems: Five stainless steel cable systems totaling 75m in length, ensuring worker safety at high elevations.
Implementation:
Rostek UK’s BMU system was installed to ensure safe and efficient access to every elevation of Vita T2. The system is expected to be in beneficial use for a period of 26 weeks, supporting the façade installation and subsequent maintenance phases.
Results:
The installation of the ROS 4.2(1.8) BMU by Rostek UK has played a critical role in the Vita T2 project’s success. The solution not only meets but exceeds safety and accessibility standards, ensuring reliable building maintenance for years to come. The project exemplifies Rostek UK’s commitment to delivering innovative and safe access solutions for modern, high-rise structures.
What did our client say:

Rostek UK’s attention to detail and adherence to safety standards have made them a valued partner on this project.”
Conclusion:
Rostek UK’s successful implementation of the ROS 4.2(1.8) BMU system for Vita T2 demonstrates their capability in addressing complex façade access challenges in large-scale urban projects. With their solutions, Rostek UK continues to contribute to the development of dynamic and inclusive urban communities.
